Louisville-based spirits producer founded in 1870 by George Garvin Brown, who invented bottled bourbon with Old Forester. One of the few major American spirits companies still partially family-controlled and publicly traded. Portfolio includes Jack Daniel's (acquired 1956), Woodford Reserve, and the founding brand Old Forester. Operates distilleries in Kentucky and Tennessee.
