What Makes This Different
The world's best-selling whiskey. Technically classified as Tennessee Whiskey, not bourbon, due to the Lincoln County Process: every drop is slowly dripped through 10 feet of sugar maple charcoal before entering the barrel. This process — not used by any major bourbon — is said to mellow and filter the new spirit before maturation begins. Jack Daniel chose the Cave Spring Hollow location specifically for its constant-temperature iron-free spring water. The 'No. 7' designation's origin is disputed; theories include it being Daniel's seventh recipe attempt or a reference to a shipping route. Registered in 1866 as the nation's oldest registered distillery.
