What Makes This Different
Spells 'whisky' without the 'e' — a deliberate Scotch-influenced choice by George Dickel himself, who believed his product was among the world's finest. The No. 12 uses an 84% corn mashbill, the highest of any major Tennessee whiskey producer. Like Jack Daniel's, uses charcoal mellowing (Lincoln County Process), but with a key difference: Dickel chills the whiskey to near-freezing temperatures before filtering through the charcoal, a step unique to this distillery. The brand was first bottled in 1964 after the current Cascade Hollow distillery was completed in 1959.
