Old Forester Distilling Co.

George Garvin Brown founded Old Forester in 1870 on Louisville's Whiskey Row as America's first bottled bourbon — revolutionary at a time when bourbon was sold only in open barrels. The brand has been in continuous production longer than any other bourbon. Brown-Forman returned to the original Whiskey Row address at 119 W. Main St. in 2018, opening a working distillery, visitor experience, and tasting room at the historic location. This is the only Kentucky Bourbon Trail stop located in downtown Louisville.
