What Makes This Different
A high-rye bourbon unique in Kentucky for being produced via a triple distillation process using copper pot stills (in addition to column stills), a technique borrowed from Scotch malt whisky production. This is the same distillation method employed by Dr. James Crow at this site in the 1830s. The mashbill (18% rye) places it firmly in the high-rye category, contributing spice and complexity. The bottle design won multiple awards and it became the official bourbon of the Kentucky Derby in 1999.
