Michter's Distillery (Shively Production Facility)

Michter's primary production distillery in the Shively neighborhood of Louisville, where the company began distilling its own whiskey in 2015 after years of sourcing from other distilleries. The facility operates at a scale large enough to supply Michter's full product line. Known for entering barrels at just 103 proof -- one of the lowest entry proofs in the industry, which preserves more grain character but requires more barrel space. All barrels are toasted before charring, adding caramel and vanilla complexity. Named the World's Most Admired Whiskey multiple times by Drinks International. Not open to the public; Michter's Fort Nelson Distillery on Whiskey Row serves as the visitor-facing location.
