Kentucky Peerless Distilling Co.

A revival of the original Peerless brand from 1889, Kentucky Peerless Distilling opened in 2015 in downtown Louisville. Every step from milling grain to bottling whiskey happens under one roof -- a true grain-to-bottle operation. The distillery uses sweet mash fermentation (no sour mash backset), does not chill-filter, and bottles everything at barrel proof. Their first rye was released in 2017, and their bourbon followed in 2019, both to critical acclaim. The distillery earned 'Whisky Advocate's Craft Whiskey of the Year' and has quickly established itself as one of the finest small-batch producers in Kentucky.
