Castle & Key Small Batch Bourbon Whiskey

Released its first small batch bourbon in 2021 after spending years producing gin and vodka (while its bourbon aged). Produced at the restored Old Taylor Distillery site. Uses heirloom white corn from Walnut Grove Farms in southwestern Kentucky rather than commodity yellow #2 dent corn. The unusually high malted barley percentage (17%) imparts a distinctive grainy, nutty quality distinct from most Kentucky bourbons. The bourbon mashbill uses standard rye as the secondary grain; the distillery also produces a separate wheated expression.
