Green River Distilling Company

One of the oldest registered distilleries in Kentucky, originally founded in 1885 in Owensboro on the banks of the Green River. The brand's motto was 'The Whiskey Without a Headache,' and Green River bourbon was once the official whiskey of the U.S. Navy and was served in the White House. After decades of dormancy, the distillery was revived and rebranded from O.Z. Tyler to Green River in September 2020. Bardstown Bourbon Company acquired Green River Distilling in 2022, providing capital and expertise to expand production. The distillery sources local grains and ages whiskey on-site in its own rickhouses.
