Garrison Brothers Distillery

The first legal bourbon distillery in Texas, receiving its distiller's permit in 2006 — the first outside of Kentucky and Tennessee. Located in the Texas Hill Country near Hye, TX. Hot Texas summers (with temperature swings from below 20°F to above 110°F) dramatically accelerate barrel maturation and evaporation — the Angel's Share can reach 20% per year versus ~4% in Kentucky. Dan Garrison left a career in technology to start this project. All grains are sourced from Texas farms where possible. A small-batch, high-touch operation that limits annual production.
