What's Unique

A waterfront distillery in Baltimore's Port Covington neighborhood dedicated to reviving Maryland's historic rye whiskey tradition. Maryland was once famous for its rye whiskey before Prohibition decimated the state's distilling industry. Founded by Kevin Plank (Under Armour founder) in 2013, the distillery opened in 2017. Uniquely, the water used to proof down Sagamore's rye whiskeys comes from a limestone aquifer on Sagamore Farm in Glyndon, MD, and is transported 22 miles to the distillery. Produces both a high-rye and a lower-rye mash bill. Illva Saronno (Disaronno) acquired a majority stake in September 2023.
