Kentucky Artisan Distillery opened in 2012 in Oldham County as the first contract distillery in Kentucky, co-founded in a former ice cream distributors building north of Louisville. The distillery serves as the production home for Jefferson's Bourbon and other partners, sourcing grain from neighboring Waldeck Farm and using limestone-filtered water from a local aquifer.
