Wilderness Trail Distillery (Campari majority stake)

Craft distillery co-founded in 2013 in Danville, KY, by Shane Baker and Dr. Pat Heist, both with backgrounds in fermentation science from the University of Kentucky. Campari Group acquired a 70% majority stake for $420 million in 2022, with an option to buy the remaining 30% by 2031. Known for pioneering the sweet mash fermentation process in modern Kentucky bourbon, producing 215 barrels per day.
