Maker's Mark Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whisky

Spelled 'Whisky' without the 'e', in the Scottish tradition preferred by founder Bill Samuels Sr. The mashbill has been unchanged since 1953, selected because a bread-baking test of seven grain recipes determined that the no-rye wheat recipe tasted best. The iconic hand-dipped red wax is applied to every bottle by hand at the distillery, and visitors can dip their own. A wheated bourbon, it is notably softer and sweeter than rye-forward bourbons — a deliberate market differentiation.
